Hole 16
Yards: 425 Par: 4 Handicap: 2
The 16th Hole turns around a slope that gently climbs up to the right. Wildwood Creek lies along the left side of the tee shot and bunkers at the corner turn the hole. Another rock lined stream splits the fairway past the landing area and continues up the right side of the green. The approach to the green has a steep slope with bunkers and hollows on the left boundary. The green arcs around a deep nose that protrudes from the back. A bunker back right situated just above Green Mountain Branch frames the green.
HOLE 16, SHOT 1>>
My name is Matt Dillman, head golf professional here at Thousand Hills Golf Resort in beautiful Branson Missouri. I am standing on the 16th hole a very difficult par 4, 425 yard dog leg to the right. My thought off this tee shot is to hit it straight over the mound towards the restroom building you can see over my left shoulder. I am going to step back and hit the shot and see how it turns out. Should be in good shape.
HOLE 16, SHOT 2>>
Just to show you how difficult a driving shot number 16 is here at Thousand Hills, I thought I hit a pretty good shot and lo and behold there is a tree in my way. What I am going to do here is, I’ve got about 150 yards, I am going to play underneath it and try to get it over the ravine and maybe I will have a putt for birdie. I think that turned out pretty well.
HOLE 16, SHOT 3>>
Here I am on my third shot here on the 16th hole. I am actually pretty happy with this shot being that I had a tree right in my line on my second. What I am going to do here is that I have a short pin and not much green to work with. Thank goodness I have such great fairways to hit off of. I am going to have to hit a spinner and hopefully it will stop. How about we just go ahead and make it for birdie right here on 16!
