Not just a vacation hotspot, Branson is also the place to be for school! Located just south of the town in Point Lookout, College of the Ozarks is a unique work college with a well-rounded education program – and it is well known in Branson! Students from all across the country – and the world! – have traveled to the Ozarks to attend this school where tuition is paid for with hard work. And on top of graduating debt free, College of the Ozarks students also have access to some pretty great activities in Branson.

Recreation: There are plenty of things around town that Branson students can do for some extracurricular enjoyment! Many of the area attractions, such as the Butterfly Palace and Silver Dollar City, offer discounts on admission (or even free admission on certain dates) with a student ID. So enjoy exploring Branson after the homework is done!

For Branson students who enjoy outdoor pursuits, College of the Ozarks is situated right above Lake Taneycomo, and is also just a short drive from Table Rock Lake. Both bodies of water offer opportunities for fishing, swimming and boating, and are located near some great hiking trails. Moonshine Beach is a popular hangout for Branson students; it features a cove for swimming, picnic tables and grills and of course, the thing that really makes a beach – sand!

Other fun activities for students enjoying some down time are go carts at The Track Family Fun Parks, mini golf and one of Branson’s many ziplines – The Vigilante Extreme Ziprider and Branson Adventure Zipline are some student favorites.

Shopping: Need some back to school clothes, or an updated summer wardrobe? Tanger Outlet Mall has Branson students covered! With name brand clothing stores like American Eagle, Under Armor, Ann Taylor and Nike, students can get the look they want at a price they can afford. And it is no secret that most college students love coffee – so round off a day of studying and shopping with a trip to Starbucks, located downtown and right across the street from the Branson Landing!

Job Opportunities: As a student, having some employment options is important. A weekend or part time job can help pay for textbooks, gas, and coffee runs with friends! Luckily, Branson offers students a multitude of job opportunities. Branson Landing is home to dozens of shops that are often hiring part time employees. Nearby stores like Best Buy and Khols have flexible hours to work with students schedules. Seasonal job opportunities are also available to students who live nearby or who might not go home for the summer. Working at Silver Dollar City, waiting tables, lifeguarding at local swimming pools, or even guiding horseback trail rides at Shepherd of the Hills are just a few of the fun work options to be found in Branson.
