Stores are already beginning to set up their Christmas displays, and people’s thoughts turn to shopping, baking, and planning fun family activities for the holidays. If you are lucky enough to be in or around the Ozarks, you might want to plan your festivities around a Branson Christmas – it’s the town’s most wonderful time of the year!

Let It Snow: Everybody loves the thought of a Branson Christmas complete with snow – but Mother Nature doesn’t always cooperate. But not to worry – the ‘snowflakes’ are always flying at The Butterfly Palace during White Flight! White Flight is a special holiday exhibit featuring hundreds of white tropical butterflies floating about the tropical butterfly aviary like winged snowflakes. You and your family will watch in awe as these beautiful Christmas butterflies fly among Living Statues of Angels, and soar up to the top of an eighteen foot tall Poinsettia Christmas Tree, while Christmas carols play in the background. The Butterfly Palace is always toasty and warm for the heat loving butterflies, so it is a great place to check out when you want to come in from the cold!

Caroling Now We Go: If you don’t want to troop around town belting out Christmas carols – you’re in luck. Branson features some great holiday shows where you can hear the classic sounds of the season! You will want to check out the Andy Williams Christmas Variety Show, featuring the Osmonds, the Lennon Sisters, and real live reindeer! Be sure to book your tickets for Dixie Stampede’s Christmas Show – not only will you get an outstanding meal at ‘the most fun place to eat in Branson,’ but you will also get to hear classic Christmas carols, see a live Nativity, and enjoy impressive feats of horsemanship. You can also listen to some sweet sounds at Silver Dollar City’s Old Time Christmas Festival at many of their live performances. Plus, not only can you hear music of the season, you can also taste great winter comfort food, sip hot cocoa, enjoy the parade, and take the roller coasters in the cold!

Light It Up: Everybody loves twinkling, cheerful Branson Christmas lights – and one of the most popular displays of Branson Christmas lights is, without question, the Trail of Lights of Shepherd of the Hills. Open during November and December, this spectacular light display with draw you into a winter wonderland. The drive through light display will take you through the heart of the historic homestead, down ‘The Trail That Nobody Knows How Old,’ and winds through different themed lands ranging in variety from outer space, to the beach. You will also get to peek inside the ‘Christmas boxes’ to see what life-size characters are doing inside! Holiday music will accompany your tour – you will end up at the Inspiration Tower, so be sure to take the elevator up for a look at ALL the Branson Christmas lights!
