This land is always saturated with festivals and celebrations like the Southern Gospel Picnic at Silver Dollar City. American music of all kinds has been influenced by southern gospel. Southern Gospel Picnic is a celebration of this heritage both past & present. The visitors to Silver Dollar City during this festival are treated with Southern-style fried chicken meals and other picnic favorites and the visitors' choice of Gospel Music. This picnic festival is conducted between late August and early September. The visitors can enjoy themselves America’s biggest Southern Gospel Picnic Music composed and sung by the Chuck Wagon Gang, and the BlackWood Brothers. During this season, each evening is made colorful by the concerts from the Southern Gospel Nights. The Southern Gospel Picnic and all of Silver Dollar City will be saturated with the majestic melodies and soul-stirring gospel songs by the renowned personalities like the Issacs, the Martins, Jeff and Sheri Easter, Gold City etc. After the day performances, the evening sessions are started with concert programs by the Southern Gospel Nights. In addition, a film show will be conducted to tell the story of the legendary American Evangelist, Billy Graham. The Echo-Hollow Amphitheater witnesses the largeset performances of Southern Gospel in the park and has a capacity of 4000 seats. In addition to the Gospel Music, the visitors show great enthusiasm to hear a great evangelist, Dennis Swanberg, famous for powerful message with the touch of humor. His speech conducted in the community worship service hall, Red Gold Heritage Hall. This Southern Gospel Music and the speech in the Silver Dollar City is a novel experience for the tourists which is not seen in any other celebrations conducted in the various parts of the world.
