The National Harvest Festival Brings the Wild West to Silver Dollar City!

Silver Dollar City brings the old west to life, but never more than during their National Harvest Festival, beginning September 12th, 2009. The National Harvest Festival brings the American Cowboy and Cowgirl to life in Branson with the spectacular shows, food, crafts and more that the Ozarks are known for.

The crown jewel of this Branson fall festival promises to be the spectacular stage show, “Headin’ West!” performed at the Silver Dollar City Opera House. This 45 minute musical production entertains and educates visitors about America’s rapid westward expansion in the 1860’s. As with all SDC productions Headin’ West features a wide cast of characters, eye popping special effects, magical musical numbers and spectacular scenery. See why this remains one of Branson’s most popular shows!

Don’t miss another focus on American Heritage at the Salute to the American Cowgirl. Horseback riding, music and energetic performances are on display as you watch the All American Cowgirl Chicks show off their skills. See how women helped win the west with this all-ages show.

Those who view Missouri as only a flyover state will also have their eyes opened by a visit to Missouri’s Best! This showcase features over 100 Missouri artisans creating exquisite arts and crafts before your very eyes. Learn about Missouri’s crafting history and see how it has affected artisans of today. Also don’t miss another Missouri feature in Echo Hollow Amphiteater-Wings Over Missouri. This entertaining show will teach you about the majestic birds of prey that call the hills and prairies of Missouri home.

And what would a visit to Silver Dollar City be without the food. During the Harvest Festival food abounds with the Taste of America. Throughout the park guests will find mouth-watering food that originated in America’s heartland.
