Hole 8
Yards: 350 Par: 4 Handicap: 7
The sharp dogleg right plays on top of the highest section of the property providing some striking long views. The elevated tees play out of a natural area filled with exposed rock, giving the feeling of almost desert like conditions. A lone bunker at the corner indicates the line of play. The fairway slopes down to the green, and the second shot is played across another series of bunkers cut into the steep slope on the right. A bunker behind helps frame the green which angles and steps down away from the shot to the right which requires a delicate approach.

Hi, my name is Matt Dillman, head golf professional here at Thousand Hills Golf Resort in Branson MO. I am standing on the 8th tee, a 350 yard dog leg to the right. What I’ve got is a bunker out there if you can see over my left shoulder it is about 250 yards out. I am not going to play that route, I’m going just a little left of it with a safe shot in the fairway. If you can hit far enough you can cut a little of that corner off, but be careful there is a lot of trouble down there. I am going to hit this one down the fairway lets see how this one goes. Pretty good shot down the middle should have a little wedge in.

Here I am at my second shot here on number 8. After what I consider a pretty good tee shot, I have less than 100 yards. We have a back pin on a back tier that is down hill. What I am going to do is try and get it to the back tier maybe it will careem down to the hole. Lets see how it turns out. I missed the tier so it didn’t go down the hill. We will have a long putt for birdie but it is still on the green.

I am at my third shot on the 8th hole. If you can tell by the video I missed the ridge so I have long putt right down this ridge. I am not sure which way this is going to break so I am going right at the hole. Lets see how this turns out. All I was wanting there is a good lag for par.

I’ve got about 3 feet left for par. This is straight back up the hill all I am thinking about is center of the cup, back of the hole.
