Thousand Hills Golf Resort Branson MO Hole 17

Hole 17

Yards: 205
Par: 3
Handicap: 8

This long par 3 is situated on a slope that falls right to left into Sandpiper lake. Wildwood Creek appears from behind the green on the left and flows into a small upper pond, which then cascades over a rock ledge to Sandpiper Lake below. A large bunker full of noses and walk-ins extends up the left side from the upper pond to the back of the green. The green is elongated which will change the distance from the tee by three full clubs. The elevated tees will offer a panoramic view of Sandpiper Lake, the sixteenth and eighteenth holes.

MATT DILLMAN, PGA PRO>>

HOLE 17, SHOT 1>>
Hello, I am Matt Dillman head golf professional here at Thousand Hills Golf Resort in beautiful Branson Missouri. I am standing on the 17th tee a very difficult par 3 measuring 187 yards. What you have is a lot of trouble to the left a bunker and a creek. I am not going to aim over there, I am going to aim just to the right and hopefully the lay of the land will take my ball toward the green. Let’s see how this turns out. Not exactly what I wanted but it should be alright.

HOLE 17, SHOT 2>>
My second shot on hole 17 came up a little shot. What I’ve got is a bump and run. I’ve got a lot of green and I am going to try and hit this ball down and let it rolling as fast as I can. It is going to break to the left so I am going to play for a lot of break. Turned out just fine.

HOLE 17, SHOT 3>>
Here on the 17th green what I have left myself is a dreaded 12 footer for par. It is a pretty straight put and I feel I have a pretty good chance to make it. Lets see if we can save our par here.
