Hole 14 at Thousand Hills Golf Course | Thousandhills.com
Hole 14
Yards: 307 Par: 4 Handicap: 14
The shortest par 4 on the course, uphill with a two level fairway, is one of the most strategic. Hitting to the high, more narrow fairway between the bunkers offers an open view down to the green and the easiest approach. Opting for the lower fairway though considerably wider, leaves a second shot to a narrow elevated green, fronted by deep , ominous bunkers. The putting surface is uncomplicated, but hitting on the proper area is key.

My name is Matt Dillman, head golf professional here at Thousand Hills Golf Resort in Branson Missouri. I am standing on the 14th tee, 308 yard par 4. This hole is very unique because it has a split fairway. You have the lower fairway which ends about 80 yards from the green leaving you nothing but rough and bunker. The upper fairway on the other hand runs all the way to the green. If you catch that downhill slope, you have a chance to get it down there real close. Today, I am going to opt for that upper fairway and see if I can get it out there. Let’s see how that turns out. I am not sure how far down there I got, but I should be in the fairway.

My second shot here on 14 didn’t go as far as I planned. I’m still only about 65 yards out to a downhill pin and you can see the fairway runs down to the green. I am going to take dead aim and see if I can get another birdie. I came up a little short but I am still on the green.

Here I am on the 14th green. I’ve got a long birdie put that is going to break a lot. What I am going to try to do is just lag it to secure my par. Let’s see how this works out. Worked out good, I left myself about 3 feet for par.

I’ve got a little 3 footer for par. This put is not going to turn. What I am going to think about is the back of the cup and just hitting it firm.
