Wilderness Experience in Branson’s Promised Land Zoo

branson-promised-land-zooLots of people would want to spend their summer vacation in the wilderness, exploring the unique flora and fauna that can be found there. However, it might be costly to travel far for just a day or two in the wilderness. This is why Branson Missouri gives you the chance to be as close to nature, even while you are in the midst of this city of entertainment. You can get any entertainment that you ask for, more than the live music shows and theater plays that Branson is famous for.

Who would think that you can see lion cubs, lemurs, and hyenas in Branson? At last, you don’t need to travel far to Africa and other places just to see exotic animals and have a safari adventure. Branson lets you in on one with the Promised Land Zoo. The Promised Land Zoo is located in Shepherd of the Hills Expressway. It first opened to the public in 2013, and it has quickly became a favorite tourist destination in Branson. The whole zoo is situated in five acres of land and is home to more than a hundred animals and forty-four different species. You can find animals such as caracals, alligators, prairie dogs, spider monkeys, and many more. You can also get to meet the playful lion cub named Delilah or the hyena named Bonzai. Other crowd favorites in Promised Land Zoo are Forrest Hump, who is a camel, the squirrel monkeys, and the baby zebras. Jungle Josh, the zoo’s director, is also proud to have raised himself the olive baboon named Calamity Jane. For those who dare come near, they can also get to see the world’s largest albino Burmese python named Banana.

The zoo is open daily from 9 AM to 7 PM. You can buy tickets up to 6:30 PM. Cameras are allowed inside the zoo. One section of the zoo called Parakeet Paradise, which is a screened house of exotic birds, is open from 10 AM to 6 PM daily. There are also live animal shows that you can catch everyday at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM, and 5 PM. You can try to pet the animals, too. There are daily bottle feedings from 10 AM, 2 PM, and 6 PM. Jungle Josh is always there to help you and to answer your questions about the animals in the zoo.
