An All Weather Destination: Branson, Missouri

Branson, Missouri, the Live Entertainment Capital of the Midwest, is located in the heart of the Ozarks.  This geographically unique area is known for beautiful scenery, rich history, and unpredictable weather.  If you’ve chosen to spend a vacation (or settle here permanently!) in beautiful Branson, be sure to pack all your inclimate weather gear!  And if some of that famous Ozarks weather crops up and spoils your best laid plans, don’t fret – Branson is an all weather town with activities and attractions to suit no matter what Mother Nature has in mind!

Weather Forecast: Sunny

Of course, sunny Branson weather is ideal for your vacation activities!  Clear, sunny weather is perfect for a day spent riding the roller coasters at Silver Dollar City, Branson’s world famous theme park, or riding Parakeet Pete’s Hot Air Balloon at the Branson Landing.  Sunny days are also perfect for exploring Branson’s lakes; Table Rock State Park features a marina with boat rentals, the Dewey Short Visitor’s Center features interactive displays and a lakefront walking path, and on the shores of Lake Taneycomo, you’ll find the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery!  Taking a horseback trail ride at Shepherd of the Hills or Bear Creek Trail Rides is also an activity best undertaken on a bright, sunny day in Branson.

Weather Forecast: Rain

Luckily for Branson visitors and locals, there are lots of indoor activities and attractions to keep you busy on a rainy day.  Take the Titanic museum, for example – you’ll lose yourself in one of history’s most famous shipwrecks in this world-class museum without a second thought to the Branson weather outside!  Catching a movie is also a great way to spend a rainy day; with three movies theaters in town to choose from, you won’t have any trouble catching a great show.  Need to do something on a drizzly day that will keep the kids occupied?  Head over to the Fun Spot at the Grand Country Inn, where you can play on three different indoor mini golf courses – regular, glow in the dark and farm themed!  The Fun Spot also features an arcade and indoor laser tag for extreme rainy day enjoyment.

Weather Forecast: Snow

Snow is some of the trickiest Branson weather to handle, but once the roads are cleared there are some fun snow day activities to be had!  Sledding is one of the most popular.  Being in the Ozarks, Branson has plenty of hills steep enough for a great sledding run – or a whole afternoon’s worth!  Not a big fan of cold and snow?  Step into another world – a warm one too! – and take your snow day to visit The Butterfly Palace!  Inside their warm, tropical butterfly aviary filled with rare and exotic butterflies, you’ll be able to forget about the cold and snow outside for sure.

While these are some of the main Branson weather categories you could encounter, you might run into heavy winds, heat advisories or hail too – you never know!  But with a little weather preparedness and some creativity, you’ll never run out of things to do in Branson no matter what the weather is.
