adoration-parade-float-kids.jpgAside from being the Live Entertainment Capital of the World, Branson Missouri is also known to celebrate the little festivals in a grand way. One can find all-year round celebrations, so any time would be a good time to visit Branson. The Christmas celebrations are no exceptions for the Branson to treat the guests to grand festivities. Christmas is also Branson’s biggest holidays and year after year, Branson always treats its guests to fun and unique holiday events.

This December 4, Sunday, Branson Missouri will be celebrating the 68th year of the Branson Adoration Parade. The Branson Adoration Parade will march through historic Downtown Branson to celebrate the non-commercial and the true meaning of Christmas. This event encourages everyone to stop and reflect on the Christmas story, which still inspires people up this day. No one else but the community is in the limelight as they come together to honor the essence of celebrating Christmas.

The 68th Annual Branson Adoration Parade will start at 5 PM with the lighting of the Adoration Nativity Scene. This “scene” is the area’s largest display and is overlooking Lake Taneycomo and Branson Landing. For you to have a little historical background on the Adoration Scene, it actually dates back to 1949 when a businessman named Joe Todd, together with artist Steve Miller, conceptualized a Christmas card-style display to honor Christ the Child. This scene was rebuilt in 2012 to be 28-feet tall and very visible from miles away.

The parade itself features local high school marching bands, various floats created community organizations from several states, and of course St. Nick! As no Christmas parade would ever be complete without ol’ St. Nick, you can have the luxury to take photos and exchange pleasantries with the Christmas icon himself. Truly a treat for kids and adults alike! The route of the parade starts at the Branson Convention Center south parking lot, to the north of Branson Landing, and back to Branson Landing’s south parking lot.
