Dewey Short Visitors Center

The Dewey Short Visitors Center is a museum located directly off of Highway 165 next to the Table Rock Dam. Named after Congressman Dewey Jackson Short, one of the biggest supporters of the Table Rock Dam project, it houses the historical background of the Table Rock Dam and the Table Rock Lake. The museum also imparts the vision of the Congressman to the visitors and also features the events that took place when the dam was being built. It is a modern-style building near the shores of the lake. It has an outdoor viewing deck, a walking path, and a small rock garden with a wooden bridge. When you go inside the museum, there is a theater that shows a film about a damn on the right and a Discovery shop on the left. Ripley’s Believe it Or Not

The Ripley’s Believe It Or Not museum is one of the most interesting museums in Branson, Missouri! Robert Ripley was a famous artist/cartoonist before there became a Ripley’s Believe it Or Not. He made a sports cartoon and named it “Believe it Or Not”. This sports cartoon became famous and it enabled him to travel to different places in the world. And as he travelled, he sought odd things to add to his collection. One of the odd things in his collection is the building in Branson, which is the reflection of the ruins of the original building after a massive earthquake that hit Missouri. This earthquake in 1812 caused the Mississippi River to run backwards for three days and made the church bell in Philadelphia ring.
