Branson’s Award Winning Christmas Season

christmas-in-branson-missouriIf you’re staying in one of Thousand Hills’ beautiful Branson cabins this holiday season, you aren’t far from some of the best entertainment Branson has to offer. As shows move into their holiday mode, you get to see the best of Branson’s Christmas variety. Home of one of Branson’s favorite Christmas shows, Andy Williams’ Moon River Theatre is one of Branson’s must sees.

The Andy Williams Christmas Show featuring the Osmonds and the Lennon Sisters will also return to Branson in 2013. This year, the show will feature a tribute to Williams, a.k.a. “Mr. Christmas” himself. The full show features amazing sets, dancers, a full orchestra, variety acts and the sounds of Christmas. From Nov. 1 – Dec. 7, the Osmonds and the Lennon Sisters will entertain audiences at the Andy Williams Moon River Theater. Shows are Monday – Saturday at 8 p.m. For more information about tickets, visit andywilliamstheatre.com.

Another great Christmas show in the Branson area is The Sanders Family Christmas. The show continues the Sanders family story from Smoke on the Mountain. It’s Christmas Eve, 18 days after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Depression is ending, but war looms on the horizon. Their only son is joining the Marine Corps, and the Sanders Family is having to say goodbye. But, before he goes, the family is working on the Christmas celebration at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. They use Christmas carols and holiday hymns to help raise the spirits of the audience and the rest of the family.

Dixie Stampede is also rolling out the red carpet for the holidays in their Dixie Family Christmas. Their spectacular live nativity features the three kings riding into Bethlehem on their camels, and the beauty of the angels descend from above. Elves from the North and South Poles will compete while you are served the amazing four-course feast Dixie Stampede is famous for! You can also enjoy Christmas music and entertainment one hour prior to the main show in the Carriage Room. The best part is that all this entertainment and family fun are included in the price of your ticket. Make sure to reserve your tickets for a Dixie Family Christmas today. Another Branson favorite is Sight and Sound Theaters. Named the “Christian Broadway”, Sight and Sound Theaters brings you a unique theater experience with a wraparound stage and bring the action of the show right into the audience. The Bible comes to life all around you. The Miracle of Christmas brings the bustle of Bethlehem right to you, with camels, horses, and donkeys parading by. You can enjoy treats and festivities on-site before the show, so come early to join the holiday spirit at Sight and Sound. Visit www.sight-sound.com to reserve your tickets and see the full line up of Sight and Sound shows.

Also throughout November and December, the Presley’s Country Jubilee, the Rankin Brothers, the Twelve Irish Tenors, and Shoji Tabuchi will also be offering special Christmas celebration shows. Be sure to visit them online or call the theatre box offices to get more information about show times and tickets.
