Branson Golf Courses Improving in 2012

Despite being regularly voted as one of the best Branson golf courses, we’re always trying to improve. That’s why when we heard a lot of requests from golfers about improving access to hole #12, we listened!

Hole #12 on Thousand Hills Golf Course is challenging and has a great view. The only problem? The cart path didn’t reach the green, during inclement weather, when we had to restrict carts to the path only, it became difficult for golfers to reach the green. To fix this, our Branson Golf Courses design team went to work designing a path that would let golfers reach the green without damaging the integrity of the course. And that’s just what they did!

Construction began in June, coincidentally right as the unforgettable heat wave of 2012 set in. Despite the record breaking temperatures, our construction crew worked hard to finish the cart path so that golfers could take advantage of it for the rest of the summer.

On July 13th, 2012 the ribbon cutting ceremony took place, officially opening the cart path to use. While we’ve still got some final grading and landscaping to do, the cart path is officially open and ready to take you to the greens on Hole #12 no matter the weather. To assist us in the ribbon cutting we had on hand our golf pro, Matt Dillman, co-owners of Thousand Hills – Dan & Mark Ruda, and special golf guests who had the privelege of being the first ones to drive down the new path–in addition to a gift of free rounds of golf at Thousand Hills if the recognition alone wasn’t enough.

If you’re ever in the area of Hole #12, don’t forget to look down–thanks to a frequent guest to the course who just happened to stop by when we were pouring concrete we have the autograph of one Mr. Mickey Gilley immortalized on Hole #12 (home of 2 of Mickey’s 4 holes in one at Thousand Hills!)

Thanks again to our golf guests, our landscaping & construction crew, all of our golfers for being patient during construction and for anyone else involved in making this project a success. Come play at Thousand Hills, the most popular Branson golf course!
