Branson Activities Expand With a New Trail on Table Rock Lake
Those looking for Branson activities have one more option as of September, 2011. That is when the Missouri Department of Natural Resources dedicated the trailhead for the newest Table Rock Lake Trails in the White River Valley Trail System.
These new trails traverse the areas used in the building of Table Rock Dam in the 1950's while surrounded by spectacular Ozarks scenery. Because these trails are natural surface, they are meant for the more serious hikers and bikers who are looking for a challenge. Of course, those looking for more leisurely Branson activities will find the lakeshore trail an easygoing alternative to the new off-road trail system.
Overall the new trail system covers over 10 miles of wilderness, including an abandoned farmstead, 400 feet of elevation change and a challenging climb to the top of a 1200 foot summit with spectacular views of the Branson area.
