Hiking Trails in Branson Keep You Fit

Getting fit and staying fit are important pieces of a long, healthy, happy lifestyle. If you are in and around Branson, Missouri, you know that there is more to the town than just shows – there are plenty of great opportunities to keep fit! CrossFit, yoga classes, great paved roads for running and walking, swimming in the lake, and perhaps the best one of all – trails for hiking! If hiking is your thing, or one that you are interested in getting into, there are no shortages of hiking trails in and around Branson for you to lace up your hiking boots and test your limits!

Table Rock State Park: For light hiking and walking, you will for sure want to check out the trails at Table Rock State Park. That’s right – not only can you camp, swim, boat and grill at the state park, but you can get some hiking in as well! This paved, gently sloping trail meanders along the shores of Table Rock Lake and provides not only exercise, but also beautiful photo opportunities, and a great look at the Showboat Branson Belle as she sails out of her neigShowtimering dock! busiek-forestBusiek State Park and Wildlife Area: For some of the best – and most challenging! – hiking in the area, visit Busiek State Park and Wildlife Area, just north of Branson up Highway 65. This rugged piece of Ozarks wilderness provides excellent hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. Color coded trails denote the difficulty of a particular trail, and hikers will encounter all kinds of different terrain – flat, grassy meadows, hilltop plateaus, steep slopes with loose rock, sandy bottoms, and water crossings. This hiker’s paradise is permeated with wildlife like deer, turkey, songbirds and bobcats, as well as old homestead sites and even a historic cemetery within the park. If you just can’t get enough of hiking in the park, you can book a campsite too and stay for a while!

White River Valley Trail System: This rugged and scenic trail system is designed specifically for hikers and mountain bikers, and won’t disappoint those who are seeking a stimulating hike! Several miles long, this trail system in comprised of several different loops, all color coded and all with varying degrees of difficulty. Hikers will encounter old farmstead sites, glades, rocky terrains, lakeside views, a variety of wildlife and of course, bikers – be sure to be aware and share the trail to avoid accidents!
