In Branson Missouri, there are a lot of opportunities to have an awesome and exciting adventure – one that you will remember for a long time. With all the nature parks and theme parks in Branson, you will surely find something enjoyable to do. Here’s an idea for a fun activity for people of all ages to try!

Would you get excited over a two hundred foot drop, and flying over the trees and waters of the Ozarks? If you are, then you should try the Vigilante Extreme ZipRider in Branson. The Vigilante Ride is located in Shepherd of the Hills, one of Branson’s most popular tourist attractions. It is more than just a zipline ride, because aside from the thrill of getting flown over the breathtaking sceneries in the Shepherd of the Hills Homestead and in Branson, you also get to learn more about the historical significance of the Vigilante Extreme ZipRider.

The Shepherd of the Hills Homestead was a place where the vigilantes known as the Baldknobbers used to pass through back in the 1800s. The Baldknobbers were once known to be the protectors of lawlessness in the Ozarks, but these vigilantes eventually did more harm than good by doing bank robberies and killings. Nevertheless, the Baldknobbers played a significant role in the Shepherd of the Hills book by Harold Bell Wright. The Vigilante Extreme ZipRider was opened in the Homestead in 2010 to pay homage to that significant part of the history of Shepherd of the Hills.

This ZipRider is launched from the top of the Inspiration Tower, which is the second highest point in the Ozarks. This makes the Vigilante ZipRide the highest launch station of any zipline ride in the world. There are four ziplines launched in one station so you can go on groups. To ensure the safety of the riders, they will sit in a special harness that resembles that of a large carseat, and this seat is designed to adjust and fit people from 75 pounds to 275 pounds. The riders can also ride with speeds up to 50 miles per hour, but this is safe for the riders because the Vigilante Extreme ZipRider has a patented trolley which enters a terminal brake acceptor at the tail end of the ride. This brings the riders to a stop safely. There are also attendants to help you out of your harness.

Try the Vigilante Extreme ZipRider any time of the year. This is a ride to remember!
