Branson, Missouri honors groups of all kinds from veterans, to Fire and Policemen, and more. But in the month of October we're looking to honor another group who teaches & guides our kids, teachers! Yes, October will be Branson's Teacher Appreciation Month, so all teachers should start making plans to visit Branson this October.
A number of Branson Missouri shows and attractions are pulling out all the stops to honor and appreciate teachers. From complimentary tickets to free gifts and more, some of the most popular shows in Branson are included. Shows that are offering free tickets to teachers include:
The Legend of Kung Fu
Paul Harris and the Cleverlys
The Texas Tenors
The Brady Lunch starring Greg Brady himself--Barry Williams
And many more!
As October gets closer, keep checking back as more and more shows offer gifts to say thank you to teachers for everything they do.
The Branson Titanic Museum is going above and beyond to appreciate teachers as well. In October they are offering free admission to all teachers. They also provide information and help to teachers to plan a classroom lesson around the Titanic and they work with teachers to provide one of a kind learning opportunities. However, not only are they celebrating Teacher's Appreciation Month this October, teachers will want to return to the Titanic in May for Titanic Teacher Appreciation Week - during this week teachers will not only receive free admission, they will also receive a gift bag of pencils for their classes and a voucher for a complimentary entry to be used when they book a class field trip to the museum.
As you can see, a number of Branson Missouri attractions are taking advantage of opportunities to show American schoolteachers how they are appreciated for the hard work and sacrifices they make for our kids. So if you are a teacher, or you know one, make sure they're in Branson this October for Branson Loves Teachers month!
Last week Silver Dollar City, the most popular Branson vacation destination, had a major announcement on a ten million dollar project that's been under construction this year. And if you've been to Silver Dollar City lately, you'll know that it's getting hard to hide!
In 2013, Silver Dollar City will be bringing Outlaw Run to life. This ten million dollar wooden roller coaster will be another record breaking affair for the park. In addition to being the most impressive wooden roller coaster in the park, it is also a world record breaking coaster in a number of ways.
Steepest Wooden Roller Coaster Drop in the world - An 81 degree drop will be awaiting riders on Outlaw Run, this sixteen story drop was made possible thanks to the coaster's design that incorporated the hilly terrain of the Ozarks into the ride itself. Go up a ten story tower, drop down sixteen stories! This great drop and height will allow the coaster to max out at 68 miles per hour. Even at these speeds a loop of the quarter mile track will stick take nearly 90 seconds.
720 Degree Double Barrel Roll - If you're not familiar with a barrell roll, it is exactly what it sounds--a complete corkscrew like riding the inside of a barrel. Twice! And this is the only wooden roller coaster in the world to feature an upside down twist like this.
The ride's theme will continue to fit in with the park's 1880's theme, by featuring a stage coach ride gone very wild! In addition to matching the theme of the park, construction on the coaster has done it's best to not harm the natural beauty of the park either. For every tree that was cut down in the construction of this coaster, two were planted.
The Outlaw Run is scheduled to be open in time for the spring season of 2013. But if you can't wait to get your first glimpse of the coaster, you can see the construction underway at the park today. Because the coaster twists around and above the Frisco Line railway, you can take a ride on the train and see the construction up close and personal. (Just watch out for train robbers!)
The park will be hopping with an expected 65,000 additional visitors thanks to the newest roller coaster in the Midwest. Start making your plans now to visit Silver Dollar City and Outlaw Run !

While Branson may be king when it comes to Live Entertainment, it is also king when it comes to nightly or weekly condominium rental. Branson, and the surrounding area, has many, many options when it comes to condo accommodations. Just check on the internet for Branson Condo Deals and see what pops up. It is enough to make you scratch your head and say “What’s the difference in product, experience, location, and price”? The answer is quite frankly “a lot”.
Let’s start with price. This is a good place to remember the old adage “you get what you pay for” and at the same time look for the best deal. If a price is too good to be true, it probably is. Condominium rental is a business, or should be, and a profit is necessary to maintain a unit in proper condition. If something is renting for less than a hundred dollars a night, you might not be getting a unit that is up to your normal standards. Cleanliness, bedding, appliances that work, are a must for any successful vacation or getaway. If the price is low, it may be you are stepping into a timeshare situation that requires you sit through a lengthy presentation or tour. Are you interested in owning a timeshare week? If not, you might want to avoid the scenario.
Location is another very important part of your decision. Are you wanting to partake of the Branson,Missourientertainment? Many condominiums are available along the famous76 Music Boulevard. Would you like your condominium to be near a golf course? Thousand Hills Resort provides the perfect location for proximity to the Strip (local term for the Boulevard) and an eighteen hole public golf course. Multiple couples can save significantly when staying in larger condos. Most condos (better check beforehand) have a private bath per bedroom. Common areas are only the living/dining and kitchen areas. Are you lake folks? Want a condo with a view of Table Rock Lake? There are not all that many condominiums on the lake that are still close to the Branson activities. The Majestic at Table Rock provides a panoramic view, new units, while only being five miles from the Strip. Be careful when booking a condo that you are not so far out that you spend too much valuable time in the car going to and from your primary destination.
Condo nightly rental in Branson, Missouri has become a very popular alternative to the traditional hotel stay. When making reservations, it is always best to talk to a live person. Be cautious when your only contact is by internet or mail. You will want a contact person that can help you during your stay if any issues were to arrive. If you are looking for a truly unique condominium experience, look for cabin rentals in Branson, Missouri and you will be pleasantly surprised how you might be staying in the woods and in Branson all at the same time.
Despite being regularly voted as one of the best Branson golf courses, we're always trying to improve. That's why when we heard a lot of requests from golfers about improving access to hole #12, we listened!
Hole #12 on Thousand Hills Golf Course is challenging and has a great view. The only problem? The cart path didn't reach the green, during inclement weather, when we had to restrict carts to the path only, it became difficult for golfers to reach the green. To fix this, our Branson Golf Courses design team went to work designing a path that would let golfers reach the green without damaging the integrity of the course. And that's just what they did!
Construction began in June, coincidentally right as the unforgettable heat wave of 2012 set in. Despite the record breaking temperatures, our construction crew worked hard to finish the cart path so that golfers could take advantage of it for the rest of the summer.
On July 13th, 2012 the ribbon cutting ceremony took place, officially opening the cart path to use. While we've still got some final grading and landscaping to do, the cart path is officially open and ready to take you to the greens on Hole #12 no matter the weather. To assist us in the ribbon cutting we had on hand our golf pro, Matt Dillman, co-owners of Thousand Hills - Dan & Mark Ruda, and special golf guests who had the privelege of being the first ones to drive down the new path--in addition to a gift of free rounds of golf at Thousand Hills if the recognition alone wasn't enough.
If you're ever in the area of Hole #12, don't forget to look down--thanks to a frequent guest to the course who just happened to stop by when we were pouring concrete we have the autograph of one Mr. Mickey Gilley immortalized on Hole #12 (home of 2 of Mickey's 4 holes in one at Thousand Hills!)
Thanks again to our golf guests, our landscaping & construction crew, all of our golfers for being patient during construction and for anyone else involved in making this project a success. Come play at Thousand Hills, the most popular Branson golf course!
Saturday, July 7th is one of the most anticpated Branson events of the year - the day for Branson at the Bridge! Celebrate 100 years of Branson with a large list of free events! Festivities all take place at the new Lake Taneycomo Bridge in historic downtown Branson, Missouri.
Live music and entertainment starts at 5:00 pm with a number of Branson acts including The World Famous Platters, The Cat's Pajamas, Dance Branson & many more! During this time a number of popular Branson restaurants will be providing signature food & treats. The Branson Arts Council will also be featuring a tent with a large amount of high quality art from local artists.
At 8:00 pm this Branson event kicks into high gear with the first "Blessing of the Fleet" and "Boats Aglow". Led by local favorite, Bob Hubbard of the Foggy River Boys, more than a dozen boats from local docks including Ride the Ducks, Kanakuk Camps, Bass Pro Shop and more will follow the Branson Lake Queen Paddle Wheeler. Local dignitaries will be on board leading the fleet.
Last but not least, at 10:00 pm prepare for a spectacular fireworks show, coordianted with music. Watch the fireworks reflected over the lakefront celebrating a century of the Live Music Capital of the World.
Come enjoy the music, fun, food & friendship and prepate to kick off the next 100 years of Branson Events!
The Fourth of July is coming up next week, and as usual Branson is pulling out all the stops for spectacular and memorable Independence Day Celebrations. To help you decide which festivities you should attend, Thousand Hills has put together a list of Fireworks shows and celebrations that you might want to visit.
From Hollister, to Kimberling City, to the Branson Landing and many more you'll find fireworks all over the Tri-Lakes area. My personal favorite show takes place at the Chateau on the Lake, which has a great show overlooking Table Rock Lake. You can get a great view of this show from the Majestic at Table Rock--imagine sitting in the air conditioned sunroom with a panoramic view of the lake and the fireworks all around!
Since 2012 has been especially hot and dry, burn bans are in effect in many parts of the country to prevent fireworks and other fires from getting out of control. So why not leave the fireworks up to the professionals this year & sit back and enjoy a Branson Independence Day!
