Despite being regularly voted as one of the best Branson golf courses, we're always trying to improve. That's why when we heard a lot of requests from golfers about improving access to hole #12, we listened!
Hole #12 on Thousand Hills Golf Course is challenging and has a great view. The only problem? The cart path didn't reach the green, during inclement weather, when we had to restrict carts to the path only, it became difficult for golfers to reach the green. To fix this, our Branson Golf Courses design team went to work designing a path that would let golfers reach the green without damaging the integrity of the course. And that's just what they did!
Construction began in June, coincidentally right as the unforgettable heat wave of 2012 set in. Despite the record breaking temperatures, our construction crew worked hard to finish the cart path so that golfers could take advantage of it for the rest of the summer.
On July 13th, 2012 the ribbon cutting ceremony took place, officially opening the cart path to use. While we've still got some final grading and landscaping to do, the cart path is officially open and ready to take you to the greens on Hole #12 no matter the weather. To assist us in the ribbon cutting we had on hand our golf pro, Matt Dillman, co-owners of Thousand Hills - Dan & Mark Ruda, and special golf guests who had the privelege of being the first ones to drive down the new path--in addition to a gift of free rounds of golf at Thousand Hills if the recognition alone wasn't enough.
If you're ever in the area of Hole #12, don't forget to look down--thanks to a frequent guest to the course who just happened to stop by when we were pouring concrete we have the autograph of one Mr. Mickey Gilley immortalized on Hole #12 (home of 2 of Mickey's 4 holes in one at Thousand Hills!)
Thanks again to our golf guests, our landscaping & construction crew, all of our golfers for being patient during construction and for anyone else involved in making this project a success. Come play at Thousand Hills, the most popular Branson golf course!
Saturday, July 7th is one of the most anticpated Branson events of the year - the day for Branson at the Bridge! Celebrate 100 years of Branson with a large list of free events! Festivities all take place at the new Lake Taneycomo Bridge in historic downtown Branson, Missouri.
Live music and entertainment starts at 5:00 pm with a number of Branson acts including The World Famous Platters, The Cat's Pajamas, Dance Branson & many more! During this time a number of popular Branson restaurants will be providing signature food & treats. The Branson Arts Council will also be featuring a tent with a large amount of high quality art from local artists.
At 8:00 pm this Branson event kicks into high gear with the first "Blessing of the Fleet" and "Boats Aglow". Led by local favorite, Bob Hubbard of the Foggy River Boys, more than a dozen boats from local docks including Ride the Ducks, Kanakuk Camps, Bass Pro Shop and more will follow the Branson Lake Queen Paddle Wheeler. Local dignitaries will be on board leading the fleet.
Last but not least, at 10:00 pm prepare for a spectacular fireworks show, coordianted with music. Watch the fireworks reflected over the lakefront celebrating a century of the Live Music Capital of the World.
Come enjoy the music, fun, food & friendship and prepate to kick off the next 100 years of Branson Events!
The Fourth of July is coming up next week, and as usual Branson is pulling out all the stops for spectacular and memorable Independence Day Celebrations. To help you decide which festivities you should attend, Thousand Hills has put together a list of Fireworks shows and celebrations that you might want to visit.
From Hollister, to Kimberling City, to the Branson Landing and many more you'll find fireworks all over the Tri-Lakes area. My personal favorite show takes place at the Chateau on the Lake, which has a great show overlooking Table Rock Lake. You can get a great view of this show from the Majestic at Table Rock--imagine sitting in the air conditioned sunroom with a panoramic view of the lake and the fireworks all around!
Since 2012 has been especially hot and dry, burn bans are in effect in many parts of the country to prevent fireworks and other fires from getting out of control. So why not leave the fireworks up to the professionals this year & sit back and enjoy a Branson Independence Day!
