Branson, Missouri, is known as the Live Entertainment Capital of the Midwest – and for good reason too!  One of the live entertainment venues that calls Branson home is the Sight & Sound Theater.  Located off of Shepherd of the Hills Expressway in Branson, and at its original location in Pennsylvania, Sight & Sound Theater has been bringing the Bible to life for thousands of guests since 1976.

Founded by Glenn Eshelman of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Sight & Sound Theater is the nations largest Christian theater company and has been referred to as the ‘Christian Broadway.’  In 2015, the company hosted nearly a million guests between the Lancaster, PA, and the Branson, MO, theaters.  Founder Glenn Eshelman started his theater business as a child artist on his family farm through landscape painting.  He eventually moved on to photographing inspirational images that gained national attention through schools, churches and civic organizations.  Glenn’s powerful photos were presented with a projector, and a microphone to provide sound.

In July of 1976, Sight & Sound Auditorium opened its door for the debut performance of A Land of Our Own in Lancaster.  The auditorium was later renamed the Living Waters Theater before returning to its original name.  The first full-length stage production with live actors was Behold the Lamb in 1987.  In 1991, the Sight & Sound Entertainment Centre was opened to accommodate more seating for guests, within a mile of the original theater.  Sadly, in 1997, the Entertainment Centre was destroyed in a fire.  A new theater was up and running in September of 1998, with an even greater seating capacity of 2,000 seats.

The 2,000 seat Branson Sight & Sound Theater opened its doors in 2008 with the production of Noah the Musical.  Both theaters have a unique ‘wrap around’ stage that brings the audience into the show – plus a cast that includes live animals for an unforgettable experience!  Each Sight & Sound Theater is family friendly, and children are encouraged to attend.  Special rooms and amenities are available for young children who might get restless during the show.

Past shows at the Sight & Sound Theaters include Daniel in the Lion’s Den, Jonah, In the Beginning, Behold the Lamb, Joseph, In the Beginning and Miracle of Christmas.

Sight & Sound Theater has brought the Bible to life in stunning ways, with engaging stories and unforgettable special effects.  Book your tickets to see Sight & Sound’s latest show today!
