Branson in August – Summer Vacation’s Not Over Yet!

Branson in Missouri is a city of lakes and also a city of fun and festivities. Branson in August hosts several events that are worth watching with the family. These festivals or events include the Shepherd Summer Cruise, Annual Bikers and Babes at the beach, Southern Gospel Picnic and the Fiddle festival. The Shepherd Summer Cruise is one of the major events happening every August in Branson. This event is a premier car display event, with more than 500 cars and trucks going on display. This event is held at the famous Shepherd of the Hills Homestead. The show is usually a three day event and on the final day there will be a midnight cruise of all the displayed vehicles down the Shepherd of the hills Expressway. It will be a treat to watch for the visitors as they could see different premium cars lined behind one another and slowly moving down the hill. Be sure to get there early–premium sidewalk spaces to watch the Cruise go fast!

The Annual Bikers and Babes at the beach is another fun event that happens for three days in the month of August. This event is held in the scenic Rockaway beach, which is a lake side town located in the northern side of the Ozark Mountains and 10 miles from Branson. There are a number of resorts, shops and Restaurants located in Rockaway beach, making it a perfect host for the yearly rally.

August in Branson also brings the Southern Gospel music picnic at Silver Dollar City. Southern Gospel music is very famous in Branson and one can hear this music at various places in Branson such in churches and county fairs. In addition to hearing the southern gospel music, your family members will also be treated to sumptuous food of different types of chicken items such as the Apple Glazed chicken and Hickory-smoked chicken. There is also a Culinary and craft school where the visitors could attend a short term course on preparing tasty food. There is also the fiddle festival to look forward to in the month of August.
