Music

Every fall you have the opportunity to listen to literally hundreds of outstanding performances that fall under the Southern Gospel genre. Southern Gospel has long been a proud part of the Ozarks hill country heritage – bluegrass pickin’ parties, small town church worship services and backyard family reunions here in the Ozarks can be heard ringing with string instruments and southern charm. If you don’t happen to be a picker and a grinner yourself (or even if you are!), the Southern Gospel picnic is your one stop location for a passel of this traditional music. Get ready for performances by The Perrys, 2012 Dove Award Southern Gospel Song of the Year winners, Guy Penrod, a timeless Southern Gospel legend, The Isaacs, triple time Dove Award winners and Grammy Nominees, The Booth Brothers, seven time winners of 2012 Singing News Fan Awards, and so many more! There will be concerts held all over the city, but all performances held in the Red Gold Heritage Hall and Echo Hollow will be hosted by famed Southern Gospel emcee Duane Garren. It’s sure to be a soul stirring and memorable experience that you’ll want to return to year after year – and most likely pick up copies of some Southern Gospel CDs to listen to in the comfort of your own home!

Food

There is just something comforting about good old fashioned southern food. It’s not only unique and delicious; it warms you from the inside out, making you feel right at home and bringing back (and creating!) memories of summer evenings on the porch and church potlucks. Here at Silver Dollar City’s Southern Gospel Picnic, you have the chance to eat your heart out with some delicious Southern favorites that will no doubt enhance your music listening experience. Visit The House of Chicken and Fixin’s inside Reunion Hall for a hearty eat session – here you’ll find Apple Butter Glazed Chicken, Creamy Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Fried Okra, Corn, Green Beans, Homemade Sourdough Bread, a Garden Fresh Salad Bar and more, all part of the All You Care To Eat Buffet, served from 11am to park closing. There’s something tasty here for everyone. It truly is ‘a feast for the soul!’

Tickets and Season Passes

Now that you’ve got your listening ears on and your stomach has set to rumbling, you’ll want to get your tickets booked! Admission to Silver Dollar City’s Southern Gospel Picnic can be purchased in a couple of different ways. When purchasing your admission, you want to consider a couple of things in order to make the most efficient purchase. Are you from out of town and visiting only for the day? If you will be frequenting here, you will most likely want to buy a season pass. For less than the cost of two days’ worth of general admissions, you can purchase a pass that will get you into any festival on any day of your choice within the operating season. Will you be attending the park with a large group for a party or reunion? Be sure to call the park for group ticket rates and discounts.
