Branson Airport - Flying to Branson in style!
Flying to Branson has never been easier now that Branson is celebrating the opening of our brand new Branson Airport (BBG) which began operation in May of 2009. Offering visitors unparalleled hospitality and service steeped in the generous, welcoming spirit of the Ozarks, the Branson Airport can accommodate all types of commercial aircraft ranging from regional jets to Boeing 757s. This enables the Branson Airport to receive non-stop air service from anywhere in the continental Unites States.
The Airport is located within the Branson Creek development, approximately eight miles south of downtown Branson. Not only does this make it easier for guests to visit Branson quickly and conveniently while avoiding Branson traffic, it also means that meeting and convention attendees have easier access to the new Branson Convention Center.
Entry to the Branson Airport is by way of Branson Creek Boulevard and its connection to U.S. Highway 65. Complete car rental and ground transportation services are offered. The terminal facility is approximately 58,000 square feet with additional check-in counters at the airport's car rental drop-off station.
The terminal was built and designed to comfortably handle and process 700,000 deplaning passengers per year, eventually handling over 1,000,000 deplaning passengers per year. The Branson Airport also provides GA and FBO services, including fueling, catering, hangar facilities and aircraft wash service. The airfield consists of a single 7,140-foot-long by 150-foot-widerunway, a partial parallel taxiway, an air traffic control tower and an instrument landing system.
The Branson Airport is the first privately financed and operated commercial service airport in the United States and is the first non-replacement commercial service airport built in the U.S. in the last 40 years.
The Springfield-Branson National Airport (SGF) is located in Springfield, MO, about 43 miles north of Branson, and serves all of southwest Missouri with 70 daily flights connecting to eight international airports via five airlines. Choose from Allegiant Air, American, Delta, Northwest and United. These airlines offer direct flights to and from Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Detroit, Las Vegas, Memphis, Minneapolis, Orlando, Tampa and St. Louis and one-stop service to 476 domestic cities and 40 international destinations.
The airport offers rental car options, a gift shop, restaurant and a visitor information center in the main terminal. The airport offers general aviation services including aircraft service, tie down space, 24-hour fueling, and a pilot's lounge. For more information, visit their website at www.sgf-branson¬airport.com or call 417-869-0300. A new general aviation airport is also under construction at Branson West for those who might want to visit Silver Dollar City and avoid the worst of Branson traffic.
